Eight sacred sites

Where families begin an ancestral-rite enquiry.

Each site has its own river, setting and practical questions. Use this directory for orientation, then speak with a coordinator about the rite, date, participants and local arrangements that can actually be confirmed.

This directory does not determine which site or rite is correct for your family.

How families usually begin

Four useful starting points.

You do not need every answer before enquiring. Begin with the clearest information your family already has.

  1. 01

A family already has a place

Tell us the preferred site and the reason it matters to the family.

  2. 02

    The rite suggests questions

Share the rite name if known, without treating the website as a recommendation.

  3. 03

    A pandit has advised you

Pass on what you were told so the coordinator can understand the request.

  4. 04

    You are starting from nothing

Describe the circumstances in your own words and ask for an orientation conversation.

What this website cannot do

It cannot decide which rite or site is correct for a family, replace qualified religious guidance, or confirm a date, place, pandit or price from a web page.

Choose a place to understand

The eight sacred sites.

Every card opens a city guide. An enquiry remains the only way to discuss availability and arrangements.

Practical comparison

Compare context, then ask what changes.

This table is intentionally limited to stable orientation facts. Access, ceremony locations, timing and availability need a current conversation.

Factors worth discussing

What can change the local plan.

Season and river conditions

Water levels, weather and local access can vary. Ask for current information before travelling.

Travel and time

Share arrival and departure windows so the discussion reflects the family’s actual journey.

Mobility

Mention older participants, children or anyone who may need easier access or additional support.

Language

State the language your family understands best for explanations and coordination.

In-person or remote help

Explain who can attend and what kind of coordination the family is asking about.

What you already know

Names, relationships, tithi or date if known, and the intended rite all help begin the review.

Before choosing a place

Understand the rite and the questions.

Choosing a site — questions.

Can you tell me which site is right for our family?

Not from a web page alone. Share the family circumstances and any guidance already received; the coordinator can help organise the next conversation.

Does a city page confirm a ceremony location?

No. Photographs and city guides provide orientation. The exact place is discussed only after the rite, date and local conditions are reviewed.

Can I enquire even if I do not know the rite?

Yes. Describe what you know in your own words and select “Not sure / Need guidance” in the enquiry form.

All frequently asked questions
A considered next step

Still unsure which place to discuss?

Tell a coordinator what the family is hoping to arrange. The conversation can begin with whatever information you already have.

An enquiry does not confirm a rite, pandit, date, location or price.
