Rite introductions

Understand the language of the rite before you enquire.

These short introductions help you recognise terms and prepare useful questions. They do not decide which rite applies to a family or replace personal religious guidance.

A safe way to begin

Read, describe, discuss, then decide.

  1. 01

    Read the introductions

Use them to understand vocabulary, not to diagnose the family’s circumstances.

  2. 02

    Describe what you know

Share names, relationships, dates or tithi if known, and any guidance already received.

  3. 03

    Discuss the local context

The coordinator reviews the requested site, participation plan and practical constraints.

  4. 04

    Confirm before committing

Ask for the scope, date, pandit and offline terms to be explained personally.

Eight introductions for a clearer conversation.

The summaries are deliberately concise. Family-specific suitability, sequence and local practice require a direct discussion.

Prepare for the conversation

Bring the known details, not perfect answers.

  • Family: ancestor names, relationships and who will participate.
  • Timing: date of passing or tithi if known, plus preferred dates.
  • Place: preferred sacred site or “not sure” if you need orientation.
  • Support: language, mobility, travel and remote-coordination questions.

Rite guidance — questions.

Can the website tell me which rite my family needs?

No. The pages are educational introductions. Family-specific guidance requires context and, where appropriate, qualified religious advice.

Does sending an enquiry create a booking?

No. It records a request for follow-up. Nothing is confirmed and no website payment is taken.

What if I do not know the rite name?

Select “Not sure / Need guidance” and describe the circumstances in your own words.

Not sure where to begin?

Share what the family knows. A coordinator will ask the next practical questions without asking for an online payment.
